He has been volunteering at Kishwaukee Community Hospital (KCH) since 2003 spending time in its physical therapy clinic, as well as in the emergency room, and now the Hospice Care Center. He has job shadowed various physicians in the KCH network, viewing surgeries, spending time in the E.R., and the pain clinic. Through the athletic training program he obtained greater than 1000 clinical rotation hours, providing/assisting treatments and physical therapy for sport related/orthopedic injuries. He was able to spend numerous days in the O.R. viewing a range of orthopedic procedures, having the opportunity to work with a number of healthcare professionals.
He is also involved in the community as a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, as well as an animal shelter volunteer at TAILS.
His focus is on proper nutrition, movement, and sleep. He believes these are the KEY factors to living a healthy life - the foundation to LIFE that are often neglected.
